Western Shinnecock Inlet Access is Open

Today, friday Nov. 9th Ponquogue bridge was openned to the public giving access to the old Ponquogue bridge, both north and south sides, as well as the inlet jetty and the beaches at Ponquogue and east. Areas west of Ponquogue beach through Triton Lane are closed due to the continued Sandy cleanup. The beaches west of Triton are accessable from Quogue bridge.Bass are in all of these areas we just need to get out there and put in some time and find them. Our shop is open with all in season baits including live eels and green crabs. Be sure to get out and enjoy the great weather this weekend.

POST SANDY

We survvived the storm and are now open for business 7 days, 8-5:30 Mon-Sat and 8-3 Sun. We still have plenty of fresh and frozen bait available including live eels thanks to our generator. Hearing some promising reports of bunker in the Peconics, bass around the Ponquogue bridge and some good action with the bass in Montauk on Friday the 2nd. All great news that the fish stuck around through the storm and our season is not over yet. The issue right now is getting to the beaches and bridge with no access permitted. I spoke to the officer holding post at the base of the bridge today and he could not give me a answer as to when he thought it would be open to the public.
